Each year, the announcement of the American Library Association (ALA) Youth Media Awards gives us occasion to celebrate the many awards in the field of children’s and young adult literature. To tell the truth, I really like these awards because I think that children’s and young adult literature has a great role in the creative sphere and in our world in general. I think that it is really important to estimate the works, devoted to young people, to a great extent and, of course, such labour should pay off. I really like all these books because they all have their distinctive features and they all reveal really pressing issues, conveying them in an interesting format. From my point of view, such works shouldn’t leave without attention because I think that they can resonate with a lot of people and help them to think about important things. I can say that I can’t even select and highlight my favourite one because I think that reading each of these books will be a necessary and valuable experience for me. In my opinion, such books are a real breakthrough in the field of children’s and young adult literature.
