Giving Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving from Mary Ann, Erika, Grace, and Katie at The Classroom Bookshelf. We will be back with a new post on Monday, December 2nd with a few of our final favorites from 2013 before the year ends. At a time when we give thanks, we also wanted to recognize the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Haiyan which has affected more than 5.5 million children. UNICEF is mobilizing its resources to reach these children first. We are grateful for the work we do and for the opportunity to share teaching possibilities with you and your students. May all children have the right to share in the power of story.
As the holiday approaches, the following covers represent some of our Thanksgiving and autumn favorites. We also recommend turning to our past post on Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet for read aloud inspiration this week.
We wish you a joyous holiday!
