Hurricane Sandy Delay
Due to the lingering impact of Hurricane Sandy, and inconsistent access to the internet this week, The Classroom Bookshelf will not be posting a new book entry today. We will be back to normal next Monday. Our hearts go out to all of those teachers and children going back to school today for the first time since the storm, and for those who remain unable to do so.
As part of the children’s book world, you might be interested in Kid Lit Cares: Superstorm Sandy Relief Effort, a relief effort for Hurricane Sandy that will donate funds to the American Red Cross. Services have been donated from all parts of the children’s and young adult book world. You can bid on author Skype visits, signed copies of books for your classrooms, manuscript critiques, and more.
